Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Force Droid with Modular Support Announced

Lenovo's Moto and Verizon has announced their newest Droid flagship. They announced two new phones with similar flagship level internals. The difference comes in the camera and batery department with the Moto Z Droid having a rather small 2600mAh battery and a 13 megapixel main camera while the Moto Z Droid Force has a bigger battery at 3500mAh and a 21megapixel OIS camera. They both have a stunning 5.5-inch QHD display with the force edition benefiting from the Shattersheild technology introduced in Droid Turbo 2 last year.

And quite surprising they dont have headphone jacks. Instead audio will be piped through the the USB port. LeEco stated it in their latest phones and now Lenovo is going the same route. This might be a deal breaker for some people who listen to music on their favorite headphones which is can swear has a 3.5mm connector.

The both phones will support mordular enhancements much like that of LG G5. These enhancements called Moto Mods, will bring additional functionalities while keeping in line with the design language of the Moto Z.

Moto has already announced some mods that will be available at lauch with promise of more mods to comes..

JBL SoundBoost Speaker - Like a BoomBox strapped to the back of your phone, this Mod includes a kickstand and its own battery to offer up to 10 hours of booming sound at significantly louder volumes than the phone's regular speaker. You can also use this Mod as a speakerphone, just in case you need whomever you are talking with to be nice and loud.

Moto Insta-Share Projector - This is exactly what it sounds like: a pico projector you connect to the back of your Moto Z. With its integrated kickstand and built-in battery to give you an hour of extra projector power, you can prop your phone up in a dark room and get up to a 70-inch screen.

Power Packs - These Moto Mods claim to offer an extra 22 hours of battery without compromising on the look and feel of your phone. They also come in TUMI and Kate Spade New York designs, which will probably look nicer than a battery backup in your pocket.

Potentially more interesting, Motorola promises these Mods are designed to work with future Moto Z phones so you won't need to buy new versions next year if you feel compelled to upgrade.
